Development Description:

retain the works carried out to include the extraction and storage of stone from part of the existing quarry identified as the extracted area comprising of approximately 0.65 Ha. of the quarry site area of 2.39Ha. Permission is sought for the following : 1. Continuation of the extraction of stone over the same area (0.65ha) and the proposed new extended area comprising of 0.85 Ha. 2. Continuation of the processing and storage of the stone over a period of 10 years not exceeding 30,000 tons annually. 3. Installation of new drainage to sediment ponds with discharge to ground water. 4. Installation of a wheel wash and weighbridge on site. 5. Installation of welfare facility unit, a site office and staff car parking. 6. All ancillary site works at Rossmore, Co. Laois 7. An Appropriate Assessment Screening and an Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Report is included with the application It is proposed to restore the quarry to farmland or forestry on completion.
